Welcome to evolution or design

The belief that the Universe was created by a Designer or that it occurred through pure random chance is simply a question of faith!

None of us were there at the beginning, either when the Universe came into being or when the Earth was being formed. As far as I know none of us have died and then come back to tell us what they were experiencing after death. That may be because there is nothing after death or that they are simply not able, or not allowed, to return to planet earth!

Evolutionists don't like the idea of their beliefs being called a faith. But are their ideas a religion by the same definition of a faith system as applies to any of the major, global religions? In my view yes they are. The important point is that the concept of the evolutionary process cannot be proven, indeed it cannot even be demonstrated! It needs faith to believe in a Universe starting purely at random and faith that the unmeasurable billions of tons of matter that comprise the universe can come from nothing.

Even if scientists come up with elaborate ideas on how science could explain the universe, it doesn't actually mean that these theories were how the universe came into existance. Science could simply be measuring the consequence of the actions of a Creator God!

Is it a reasonable hypothesis that the immensely complex DNA that which defines each living thing can just generate new creatures with new complex feature it couldn't have known about before! Could a wing develop with it's muscles, nerves etc and the brain control systems, just occur by random chance when there was no concept of flight in existance? This applies to a wide range of 'new' features developing into reality such as sight, walking, breeding, language, etc.

Evolution requires that hugely complex DNA can be created from nothing, and faith that single cell lifeforms evolved by pure random chance into a massively complex creatures all defined by their DNA. And there are millions of species of living animals, insects, birds etc. And, of course, humanity!

How could scientists, people who are normally so fussy about proof and evidence, just accept bland statements like 'the mass of the universe came from nothing'? Is it possibly down to a fear that any other option would infer the existance of an almighty being, capable of creating our universe and ourselves? Or is it a bit more basic than that? The concern that if they step out of line then they won't get University jobs or research grants?

I hear people, such as Richard Dawkins, mocking Christians and others for their faith whilst themselves believing something that cannot be proven! Richard Dawkins has recently acknowledged that life itself cannot have evolved from nothing. He has now proposed that life was seeded on planet Earth by an alien race. He accepts this on the basis that somewhere at the end of the chain of alien races bringing life to planets, there was a starting point where life came into existance from nothing! That should be an easy one to prove!

Unfortunately for the atheist, it is easier to accept that the Universe has a creator than it is to believe that it came into existance from nothing and by pure, blind, random chance! It is also easier to believe that humans exist for a reason and that we are not just an accident in the evolutionary chain with absolutelu no purpose in our lives!

Design on the other hand is easy to accept. We just need to look at at objects and wildlife to see how suited they are for what they do. A bad design of an object is usually obvious. We generally don't question how an item ended up being a good design for the task it was intended for. We just look at how suited it is for the job it does. We don't question the ability of the designer of an object unless it is obviously useless for the task in hand!

The big question is ...

Was the Universe and its contents (including us) created by chance?
OR
is there evidence of a designer?

The answer to this question does have consequences!!
