Is there a Designer?
Whether one believes in a Designer or pure random chance (evolution),
it is a question of faith!
None of us were there at the beginning, either when the Universe came into being or
when the earth was being formed.
Evolution is a religion as much as any of the major, global religions. The important point is that it cannot be proven indeed cannot even be demonstrated! You need faith to believe in a Universe starting at random, that life 'started' by mistake, that life 'evolved' by pure random chance into cells and DNA and living, seeing, thinking people
A religious person will believe that the Designer is as defined by their religion. A person may not believe in any religion and still believe that there is design to the world.
The term 'evolution' is very mixed up in many people's minds. They haven't been taught what it really means and have not faced up to the concept that everything exists by pure random chance. Start to question people and you quickly see that their support for Evolution is much more along the lines of 'it must have been, mustn't it?'
Is the Evolutionist biased in their application of science?
The evolutionist's belief starts from the position that no intelligence or design of any sort is
involved in the creation of the Universe, the Earth, the formation of life on earth, etc.
This is their faith position, no matter how animated people get explaining otherwise.
The evolutionist has decided on a position of faith that there is no Design and that no
intelligence of any sort was involved at any stage in the creation of the Universe through
to the appearance of life and mankind.
Are there many areas in science where the scientist excludes any options at all on the basis of faith,
or do they rule out options on the basis of scientific knowledge?
The difficulty is that one cannot discuss issues of faith in a calm, rational manner with a person who holds an opposing faith position. It is a waste of time trying!
Science will not prove Evolution. Nor will it 'prove' any other faith position.
So we should simply look at the scientific evidence! The science is fascinating.
The latest discoveries in the scientific and natural world are wonderful to see.
The latest discoveries about DNA and cell structure are amazing.
The issue is not the science, although there is 'bad' science around!
The issue is how should the scientific evidence be interpreted?
Are the interpretations valid? Which side do they support?
